December has rolled in and we are exciting for the holiday season and the event planning ahead.

This year we have decided to share some of our favorite partners, clients, products and shops by featuring one a day as we reveal them one by one as a daily Advent Feature.

I hope you will visit their sites and stores, buy their products or at least get to know who they are. With the exception of a few Memphis highlights, they are all Canadian with most available in the Montreal area at some locations.

If their is anything you find that you would like more information on send me a note and I would be happy to help out.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and may the season be spent with those you love sharing your Art of Living.

Cheers, MC

ART
Cutting Edge Art @ 21C Museum Hotel

May, 2016

Marina Cutler’s MCs Art of Living takes us to Cincinnati for the launch of a new exhibition in one of the South’s most inspiring and original Hotels.

The concept of the “experience” has grown in all areas of marketing. We no longer accept just eating, going to a show or being at a shop, we know there is a story to everything and we want to be a part of that story, to experience something special. Art is often hidden within without officially standing out as the story, but on my recent travel project, Montreal2Memphis, I discovered a hotel that was all about ART as the experience.

For those of you who know me, you know this had me as just as happy as finding a big buttery chardonnay, working with new artists or creating a new project!

Hotels are always looking for ways to wow us and leave us saying “I can wait to stay there again.”  21C not only does that but actually changes their appearance so that when you do return you experience a new WOW every 6 or so months.

Situated in the heart of downtown Cincinnati, 21C Museum Hotel is a boutique hotel and Museum all in one.

Hi Everyone,

Our team is working on several new projects and events, all of them very different yet all very exciting.

We are working with a fabulous Juno nominated Canadian R&B soul singer/song writer, a dynamic visual artist who we will be feature during the Month of May on our partner's site Avenue Art.ca as well as during the Montreal Grand Prix, and will share a talented new artist and company who are teaming up to create a bold new brand and audience.

I will share updates on twitter as I get more news on each but before we introduce those events and projects with greater detail we are taking you on trip!!

We are driving from Montreal to Memphis to unveil what we feel is one of our most exciting multi national projects yet, The Capture Canada Photography Exhibition as part of The Memphis in May International Festival.

We want to bring you along for the ride as we visit some great towns, hotels, discover the local art, eat some delicious food, sip some great cocktails and of course check out any events that are happening.

INSPIRATION!!

Sherbrooke Street Art Walk

Picture
Catching Up by J. Seward Johnson Jr. Originally photographed by Daniel Kudish

Montreal is home to an eclectic array of impressive outdoor sculptures. Created by some of our most talented artists and made possible by the generosity of individuals, organizations and companies, these artworks add both beauty and intrigue to our outdoor surroundings.

Although we may only afford them a passing glance as we rush off to our next appointment, these monuments have become intrinsic components of the Montreal cityscape.

With this in mind, I decided to take a closer look at some of the sculptures that I often pass on a daily basis - and what better way then by foot? So, along with my regular cast of characters, armed with coffees in hand, we set out for a glorious stroll along Sherbrooke Street to check out some of Montreal's finest outdoor art, and we would like to invite you to join us.

Beginning at Greene Avenue in Westmount heading east, we'd only had time for a few sips of our java before our first stop. Here in front of a brown edifice on the north side corner of Elm, we encountered a very familiar sculpture - yet nobody in the group or passer byers knew the artist or title. Reading the plaque we learned that this bronze gentleman perpetually perusing his newspaper is entitle Catching Up and is by well  know American artist, J.Seward Johnson Jr.

It certainly helps give character and life to an otherwise non descript office building.

“Shop The Neighbourhood!".....then ....Cocktails & Tapas!

12/8/2015

I have a great group of friends who no matter how busy and crazy our lives get we always seem to find time to go for a quick dinner, grab a wine, explore a new store or restaurant...................... to CELEBRATE!

We all like to shop and discover new things, so it was no wonder when I told them I was working on a “Shop Your Neighbourhood Project” with a few local shops and that I was going to spend the day shopping in the hood… they all said, need company?

Like any good planner, I anticipated and I did a little prep set up before I headed out for the day.

The Grey & White Holiday Glitz Theme paired nicely with the brands that we highlighted.

PAINT, CREATE & COMMUNICATE

The 5th Annual “Brush Off” Painting Competition took place at Avenue Art in September and was by far the best yet!  The submissions increased, the works varied and we discovered many great new emerging artists.

The goal of “The Brush Off” is to highlight and encourage emerging artists while bringing awareness to Alzheimer’s and the significance that art -based activities can play in the lives of people living with Alzheimer’s. We not only use this as vehicle to raise funds for those art projects but to better inform and talk with people about the disease and how the two worlds intertwine.

This year we were thrilled to partner with the accounting firm PSB Boisjoli and RBC as co-sponsors for evening's VIP Opening Night Fundraiser & Cocktail.
